How to Find Drag Queen Accessories

Planning to dress up as a Drag Queen this Halloween? Okay, so assuming you already have the perfect dress or outfit but need those final touches.  This article will give you some great ideas on how to find Drag Queen Accessories and what you can do with them to help make your Drag Queen costume look Fantastic!

Drag Queens have a style all their own. With their big showy get-ups and flashy make-up, you can spot one from a mile away. These guys are quite a site to see, which is why they make such a great Halloween Costume. But it's the final touches in make-up and Drag Queen Accessories that make it perfectly marvelous!

Wigs are probably the most important of your Drag Queen Accessories.Look for a wig that is styled to fit your costume style. Do you want long and curly, short and poofy, bleached blonde, red, pink, brunette or purple?

Don't worry about color so much, but if you want to get noticed, the louder the color the better. If you want the style to match the costume, just do a web search using your costume character as the keyword plus "wig" i.e. "mermaid+wig". You should find plenty to choose from out there. It's even easier to do an image search to see what they look like before you actually go to the website/store.

Also, make sure you get a wig cap to for an easier fit and be sure to tuck in all of your hair so it can't be seen. Bobby pins might be a good thing to have available in case you need them.

You know you'll need to apply a ton of make-up and this will take you a good 45 to 60 minutes to do. First off, give yourself a good close shave.

Now take a look at your eyebrows. If they have a nice clean shape to them, no worries, but if they are thick and bushy, you may want to so some tweezing or even waxing to give them a nice womanly arch.

So now once all the extra hair is removed, you can apply some moisturizer to your face. Then follow these steps:

1. Apply Foundation over your face and neck.
   
2. Apply Blush to your Cheeks and blend.
3. Apply Eyebrow Pencil to fill in and shape your arches.
   
4. Apply eyeliner to upper and lower lids right next to your lashes. Don't be shy with this.
   
5. Apply a colorful, sparkly or glitter eye shadow to upper lids.
6. Apply a very dark shadow in the crease of your eyes and blend in with a brush.
   
7. Apply a light sparkly eyeshadow under your brows.
   
8. Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes or glue on false eyelashes.
   
9. Last but not least, apply a dark lip liner and fill in with a bright lipstick.

You have some options here. You can use a bra stuffed with socks or better yet, there are some great breastforms out there that you can easily buy for a more realistic look.

But let me warn you that If you use a bra and socks, you'll have to deal with looking lumpy and bumpy. Not a good look. I'd suggest you get the breastforms, and be sure they are both matching pair. You don't want one bigger than the other.

The final touch to complete your Drag Queen Costume is stepping into a great pair of shoes. Leather Boots are great with short dresses, but high heels and platforms create a great look too! You have many choices here but always keep in mind that you want to be able to walk and be comfortable.

Take a trip to your local shoe store and try some on to see what feels best on your feet. DSW is a great store to find a huge variety of great shoes with great prices. 

Determine your size and style.  As a general rule, men's shoe sizes run two sizes smaller than women's shoe sizes. For example, if you wear a size 10 in U.S. men's shoes - you would most likely take a size 12 in U.S. women's.

If you can't find your size in the store, you can usually find larger women's sizes online. You can feel confident in ordering them because now you know what you need!
